Chapter 22

“There’s fuck all in any of these houses,” moaned Buck after exiting yet another ruined dwelling. “I was hoping for some loot. Gold, maybe some armor. Anything. But it’s like no one actually ever lived here. It’s like an empty movie set.”

“Yeah well, I reckon the only rewards we’ll get will be provided by the dungeon.,” said Leo. “Or the System, or whatever. Not entirely sure how this all works. But one thing I do know, seems that the System likes violence. If you don’t kill things, then you don’t get shit. Whatever the System is … it’s fucking psychotic.”

As the team prepared to venture further into the dungeon's murky depths, they felt a palpable sense of anticipation. They knew that danger lurked around every corner, and the unknown made them extremely wary. The sound of their footsteps echoed through the dimly lit corridors, creating an ominous cadence that seemed to amplify the darkness. They braced themselves for the worst as they imagined the horrors that awaited them.

Suddenly, they heard a chorus of low and menacing growls echoing through the shadows, causing their hearts to race.

Out of the darkness emerged a pack of ferocious Wargs, their eyes gleaming with an insatiable hunger, and their snarls reverberating off the damp and rough-hewn walls, sending a chill down their spines.

Leo gripped his axe tightly, his heart racing with adrenaline as he looked out at the chaos before him. The weight of their mission felt like a heavy burden on his shoulders, but he knew that failure was not an option.

Greater Warg - (Level 47)

Strengths –

Speed and agility: Wargs are incredibly fast and agile, able to dart around their enemies with remarkable swiftness.

Powerful bite: Their jaws are lined with razor-sharp teeth, capable of inflicting severe injuries with a single bite.

Pack mentality: Wargs often hunt in packs, allowing them to coordinate their attacks and overwhelm their prey with sheer numbers.

Enhanced senses: They possess acute senses of sight, smell, and hearing, enabling them to track down their targets with precision.

Weaknesses –

Vulnerable to fire: Despite their fearsome nature, Wargs are particularly susceptible to fire-based attacks, which can cause them to panic or retreat.

Limited endurance: While they excel in short bursts of speed and aggression, Wargs can tire quickly during prolonged engagements, allowing their opponents to gain the upper hand.

Pack dependency: Wargs rely heavily on their packmates for support and coordination in battle. When isolated or separated from their pack, they may become disoriented or less effective in combat.

The Warg is a formidable creature, resembling a large, wolf-like predator with sleek fur, sharp claws, and gleaming teeth. Its muscular build and keen senses make it a swift and deadly opponent in battle. With a menacing growl, it lunges at its prey with lightning speed, aiming to tear them apart with its powerful jaws.

"Stay close, everyone," Leo roared, his voice filled with urgency. "It’s just a bunch of doggies, we've faced worse than this. You all know the drill, let’s do this."
